Woman of Wisdom - who are they?
She is you, she is me, she is all of us women. She is the Goddess within us. I love and highly value my community of women friends and family. They are deeply compassionate, wise beyond measure, playful, joyful, sometimes sorrowful, but always resilient. These artworks acknowledge the value of the women in my life.
Each one is unique, and each individual comes together to form the rich tapestry of community, influence and understanding.
WOMEN OF WISDOM, 2025
The original Woman of Wisdom was created at the artist residency I undertook in Meteora, Greece. She is hand built and was coated in terra sigilata before being raku fired and then had red wine, Greek honey and sawdust thrown at her to create her colouring.
The second (below) was also made in Meteora and is finished with an Ash glaze made from the local forest trees.
